By Vinodh Pushparaj Nobody, I repeat nobody likes a bridezilla bride. If you feel this feeling taking hold of your higher thinking processes fight it! Fight it will every fiber of your being, if you dont your friends may never forgive you. I am speaking, from experience of my close friend. She has never been a bride, but often been a bridesmaid. You know what they say; always a bridesmaid, never a bride but I keep my hopes up. But back to the bridezilla thing, it is too easy for the bride to get carried away and wrapped up in all of the planning. And oftentimes if she has a wedding planner she will be inclined to take all of this planners words as gospel. This unfortunately often hurts the bridesmaids chances of looking pretty during the ceremony. I dont know what it is with ugly bridesmaid dresses but they seem to be the popular thing to choose among brides. This is one wedding tradition that does not seem to be in any danger of being lost, like ever. Be nice to your bridesmaids, they are there to support you on your special day, they dont deserve to have to wear ugly plum wedding dresses. Sorry that plum dress thing was a flashback. Let your bridesmaids wear a pretty color like soft pink or blue, perhaps even a gorgeous red or green, for the love of all thats holy, anything but plum! Just kidding plum bridesmaid dresses can actually look quite flattering on many women and this color does go extremely well with all of the flower arrangements that will be decorating the reception hall and the altar. Choosing the color of your bridesmaid dresses is one of the most important decisions that you will make about your wedding. These dresses will be highlighting your fabulous wedding gown and that is why it is so important that you choose the right color. You need the bridesmaid dresses to match your gown but yet not look like it at all. This is where things can get tricky. See, you need the dresses to compliment each other while being a completely different color and style. How on earth?!? Sounds impossible right? It isnt though, it can be done easily. Just ask for some help at the boutique from which you are purchasing your wedding gown. They should know all of the best tips and tricks. Again I am going to admonish you to be kind to your bridesmaids. Let them have at least some say in the bridesmaid dresses, they are paying for them and they have to wear them, it is the least that you can do. It really is. Consider what colors would go best with their particular skin tones. Your bridesmaids do not have to wear all the same color although this is the most common practice. One of the best ideas is to have all of the bridesmaid dresses the same color but have the styles vary slightly. This way each bridesmaid will have her own individual bridesmaid dress. They do not have to be too different, just different enough that it showcases and highlights her own unique curves and attributes. This my dear, dear bride is the kind thing to do. And this way the bridesmaids might even get to wear their expensive dresses again someday. Bonus! The surgeon will hence need to determine the amount of fat that is to be removed by feeling and pinching the skin all through the duration of the surgery. I know, youre already laughing at the question, and some of you are muttering things about how no man will ever really understand womenbut please, bear with me. Of course each woman has her own unique tastes and preferences, as does each man. However, there are certain common attributes that most women seem to share. Understand that there will be exceptions, but hopefully, this concept will help you to better understand one aspect of the opposite sex. Men like their women to be happy, Women like their men to be strong. No, Im not kidding. Think about how you felt the last time your significant other was really happy because of something you did laughing, playful, funny. Think for 20 seconds about this memory. How does it make you feel? For most men, it makes us feel happy as well, but more than that, on a deep level, it makes us feel confident as men in their life. If you can imagine what a caveman would have thought, it might be along the lines of When I see the woman in my life happy, I know I have done a good job as a man in taking care of her. Well, it turns out that as men, most of us are hardwired to experience this same thing, tens of thousands of years later. We feel we are fulfilling an important part of our role as a man when our significant other is happy. But thats not allwe also have some more pre-programming from back when we lived in the rocks and woods. The other part of the equation is that women like their men to be strong. I know, it sounds like a simplistic male chauvinist stereotype from some guy named Bull who has more brawn than brains. Strength has many different forms. A man who is strong is one who is truly assertive, without necessarily being aggressive. True strength in a man comes out in many ways. For example, this man will not be afraid to speak his mind when he disagrees with his boss, and he will not hesitate to confidently tell his relatives that he appreciates their comments on raising kids, but has chosen a different approach. The strong man is not afraid to be with his woman when she is upset he doesnt run, nor does he feel compelled to fix her. He is simply there for her. A man of strength is aware of his feelings with his significant other, and can confidently share them with her, being okay with the fact that she may disagree. At the same time, he also picks the right time and place to discuss sensitive things. A man of strength does not feel the need to tell others how great he is, but rather, through his actions, demonstrates his true strength. This man exhibits the archetype of a king who is strong and confident, yet fair and gentle as well. He is a man who knows his power and also knows how to use it with sensitivity and wisdom. As men, we all embody a part of this proverbial king. While there are many aspects to this characteristic, my point here is that it is especially attractive to most women when they see this quality in men. Again, dont confuse strength with aggression (which is just another form of fear). It is true strength that makes women feel safety and security on a very deep human level. Think about a time when you were really proud of yourself for acting with this type of strength in the presence of your significant other. What was her reaction? A big point of confusion is that we often think our partner wants what we want. How can you find out what really makes your girlfriend or wife feel connected to you as a man? Here is a fun exercise to try together. Ask her to tell you what things you can do that will make her see you as a strong and confident person? Have her use specific examples. As she talks about them, write them down. Next, she gets to ask you what kinds of things she does that really make you feel connected to her, or just plain glad to be with her. As you talk, she gets to write them down. Again, give specific examples. Now, you each have a list of things you can do for the other to help them feel good. Put the list somewhere that you can see it every day. Try doing things from it regularly, and see what kind of results you get. This is a powerful way to recapture some real depth and connection in a long-term relationship, or to develop it in a new one. Indeed, men and women are different on a fundamental emotional level. We are driven by dissimilar things. In the future, Ill talk more about these differences (and similarities), and how understanding them can strengthen your relationship. Many underweight people work hard to put on a few pounds by eating alot, but do not gain weight. How come? It could be many things, but one may be that the person is extremely active and their bodies work hard all day and night long. They burn calories fast even though they consume alot of food. An underweight person my have great eating habits. For example: they eat several small snacks or meals every day. Often times they eat every 2 to 3 hours. I have seen small people eat chocolate, but not the whole candy bar only a couple of bites and then they put it away. How come it is easy for them to stop eating the candy bar? Because… The candy bar does not have a hold on them. They eat to stay alive. They do not live to eat. Food is notthe main thing in their lives. The are not infatuated with food. They think differently about food. An overweight person works hard to eat less and less, but put on the pounds. Many actually eat very little and even starve themselves to take weight off. Only to get on the scale and see that they have put on pounds instead of shedding the pounds. Discouragement sets in and they give up. An overweight person may use food as a comfort. How? When they are under stress in any form, they eat. They tend to eat to much and the wrong kind of food. For example: they eat a chocolate candy bar and feel great for about 30 minutes, then it hits them that they should not have eaten it. So they get depressed and eat again. This cycle for them is vicious. It is very hard to stop….unless…..they begin to Think differently. How? Here is one tip: When you are under stress and decide to eat something. Sewing Tip - Pre-shape Zippers Before Sewing In Curved Seams

By Marian Lewis Here is a sewing tip to help you when you are sewing a zipper in a curved seam. Zippers are straight and your fitted garment has curved or shaped seams. You need to pre-shape your zippers before you insert them into curved seams. By pre-shaping the zipper tape, you remove the stiffness of the zipper, make it work easily into a shaped seam and allow it to conform to the body curves without buckling. Follow this process: Remove the zipper from the package. Wet the zipper thoroughly and let it dry to preshrink it. Press the tapes flat on each side of the metal teeth or nylon coil with a steam iron or with a damp cloth. NOTE: Be careful when you are pressing near a nylon coil. If the iron is too hot, it will melt the coil. After the first press, dampen the tapes once again with a damp sponge or wet cloth. Press the tapes while still damp - one side at a time. This time, stretch the tape and shape into an outward curve while pressing. Press until dry using the stretching, curving motion. By shaping the zipper this way, you make it more flexible. When you insert it into a curved seam, it will conform to the curve beautifully. Try it!
